A fursona is a colloquial term referring to an animal / anthropomorphic character one uses to express or portray themselves. However, I view it as much more than that. Each of my fursonas represents deep spiritual, sexual, or emotional aspect of who I am as a person. Each serves a slightly different purpose, and they appear frequently in my work as I explore life and the magic it holds.

FAERIFEATHER

A creature of the Fae, Faeri is feline in appearance. She developed from my former fursona, FahriiFeather, as my character and needs changed and developed. She acts as a force for good, a positive energy in my waking world that reminds me that maybe things aren’t all bad.

FaeriFeather is a newly-developed creature. Art of her is coming soon.

KATYA

My lovely Katya - a wolf born of a desire to understand my actions and thoughts; a creature so deeply connected and rooted in who I am as a person that she seems almost to transcend the screen I draw her on. Through her, I explore my sexuality, religion, struggles, triumphs, and relationships. She is my longest-standing fursona, having entered my psyche over a decade ago.

From within my gender identity arose Adrian, Katya’s male counterpart. Adrian appears identical to Katya, although with male features and a masculine build. With his help, I can explore the tumultuous and ever-changing reality of being nonbinary.

ACE OF SPADES

Ace is not just one creature, but many. A shapeshifter, he can traverse the world as a wolf, a bobcat, a hare, or a white-tail buck. His versatility arises from a need to both fit a mold and break out of it.

Ace embodies the pieces of me that may have been - the parts that lie somewhere within me without an outlet. His nickname, “Space Ace,” stems from my adoration of space and my deep desire to study and understand its connection to me. He possesses tattoos of the Voyager Golden Record, a phonograph record containing all that humanity is. He is used to explore my place in the universe.
